Ela Ada/Steamed Sweet Rice Coconut Parcel in Plantain Leaf
Ingredients
Roasted Rice Flour : 1 cup
Grated Fresh Coconut : 1 cup
Dark Powdered Jaggery : 1/2 cup
Cardamom Powder : 1/2 tsp
Ghee : t tsp
Water : 1 cup
A pinch of salt
Plantain Leaves
Method
1. Boiled 1 cup water add salt and 1 drop of ghee.
2.Combine the rice flour in bowl.
3.Add 1 cup boiling water to make a soft dough. Allow it to cool a little.
4.Grease your hands with ghee and knead the dough till soft and smooth dough .
5. Melt jaggery in 1/s cup of water and purify it. mix grated coconut and mix
6.Add ghee Atlast add cardamom powder. Stuffing is ready keep aside
7.Divide the dough into medium or large size balls.
8. Place each ball in the center of plantain leaf and flatten it to form a thin round shape(poori shape). Place a tablespoon of coconut mixture on it and fold the leaf to seal the edges.
9. Repeat the same process with rest of the dough.
10. Preheate idli cooker 3-4 min
11. Steam Ela Ada Recipe for 10 – 12 minutes in idly cooker or steamer.
Switch off the flame and serve Ela Ada Recipe hot or cool .
Tips
You can make Ela ada without plantain leaf. Use aluminum foil instead of plantain leaf.
Make delsious Ela Ada Recipe with Gothambu / wheat ada in same recipe.
You can make Ela Ada without sharkara / Jaggery.
You can make Ela Ada with banana.
