Bottle Gourd Curry Recipe / दाल लौकी /Calabash /Opo squash

It’s comforting healthy food for babies and adults made with Indian lentils and tempered with cumin seeds. It is also best  SOUP IN WINTER SEASON.

 Ingredients :

Bottle Gourd -1 (Peeled & Cut the Cubes)

Split yellow Toor dal/Tuvar Dal – 1/2 Cup

Split Red Lentils / Masoor Dal (- 1/2 cup

Green Chilly – 1-2

Turmeric Powder – 1/4 Tsp

Salt – To Taste

For Tadka:

Hing – 2 Pinch
Garlic Pods – 8
Red Chily – 3
Cumin Seeds – 1/4 Tsp
Mustard Seeds – 1/4 sp
Curry Leaves – 3 Strings
Oil – 2 Tsp

Preparation Method :

1. Clean the Toor Dal With Water after Add Water & Soak for 30 Minutes.

3. After Keep it in a Flame then add Green Chili, Tomato, Sliced Bottlegourd and Turmeric. then Add Required Water & Keep a Lid Upto 3-4 Whistles.


3. After Remove the Pressure Open the Lid then Mash The Dal With Spatula.

Tempering ( Tadka ):

1.  Take a Kadhai. Add little Oil , Crushed Garlic Pods, Mustard Seeds, Cumin Seeds, Curry Leaves, Red Chilies and asafoetida ( Hing / Kayam)

2. Add  Dal.

Serve With Hot Rice or Rotis and pickle.

Tips:

Before tadka remove lentils -veg soup it is best for baby.

You can add Chana lentils/ Dal for this recipe and more spices to make Bottle Gourd Curry Recipe more flavourful.
