There Are variety of appams or appe , sweet and savory. I have already posted neiappam made with banana . I always prefered to fry it in very little ghee. Ghee is key to make it Sweet Rava Appam more tasty also sesame seed, cardamom seed/velchi powder help to make it more flavourful.
Lets start Step by Step Sweet Sooji Paniyaram Recipe
Ingredients
Sooji / Rava / Semolina – 1/2 cup
Water – 3/4 cup
Jaggery (Gul)– 1/2 cup
Rice Flour / Tandalache pith – 1/2 cup
Wheat Flour / Atta – 2 tbsp
Fresh Coconut – 1/4 cup grated
Cardamom Powder – 1 tsp
Baking Soda / Cooking Soda – 1/4 tsp
Oil / Ghee -for frying
Cut Jaggery in pieces.
Add water in it and keep it to the slow flame
Stirring occasionally after melted jaggery drain it.
Take Rice flour, sooji , wheat flour, Fresh grated coconut in a bowl, add above melted jaggery water mix it properly add water if needed.(dosa batter consistency).and soak it for 5 to 10 mins.
Now Add carodmon pow, sesame seed,and Mix.
Take Appam chatti/ Paniyaram Pan.
Heat spoonful Ghee / oil for deep frying, drop spoonful of batter in Ghee /oil.
Close lid / keep lid on paniyaram pan and cook 2-3 min.
Now fry another side of paniyaram pan, fry till golden brown.
Drain onto some paper towel.
Sweet Sooji Paniyaram Recipe is ready to Serve.
Keep it airtight container 3-4 days.
